I had asked a similar question, and generally everyone said similar things. “whatever is the right amount for you” ‘whatever is necessary for the story's entry’ and so on. as for the duration, they say that 45 minutes to 1 hour is good. although I'm not at the rendering stage like you yet, I'm writing a story for my own game and according to my calculations, I already have 88 minutes of reading time. my game will probably be a kinetic novel, so it's easy to calculate the gameplay time based on the word count, but in sandbox games like yours, the gameplay time can vary from person to person.
