Where the heck did this game come from? Fell completely out of my radar, but with only a year of development time it already has so much great content. So glad I stumbled on this.

Early chapters start slower, establish the world, characters, and relationships. Currently playing through chapter 7 and its quickly becoming one of my favorite harem games. Very shonen like in terms of the actual plot. But the characters are fun and cute, and the sex scenes are steamy and improve with each chapter.

Can't ask for more than that. 5 stars, great work. Very consistent dev.

This game really exceeded my expectations. The start might be a bit bumpy but as it continues it improved and got better seeing that in the quality of the renders and story telling. The thing I love most is the mystery and horror aspect in some of the chapters that build up my anticipation, making me want to know more right away as I play. Its the aspect that kept me hooked and wanting to play more.

A very earnest attempt that commits a few too many faux pas.

Realistically, this game is in the mid 3s/5, which gives me discretion about whether I want to rate it a 3 or a 4. I debated about it for a long time. There's a lot of reasons to bump it up. The game is genuine in attempting to create a unique and memorable VN. The developer appears to have their shit together; updates are fairly meaty, and they come out with good regularity. You always want to reward a developer who is clearly focused on the project. On the other hand, the developer seems to only like very high ratings, even against those that give earnest feedback.

Ultimately, I decided to rate it a 3 based on the game as it is now, and not the promise that it clearly demonstrates. It's very possible that the finished product will bump higher, but as it is right now (chapter 10), there's just a few too many amateurish flaws that keep me from rounding up.

Visually the game is... okay. It's a Honey Select game with decent attention to detail. The backdrops used are simply adequate, which works stylistically because the models aren't particularly detailed either. The game clearly is going for an anime-ish aesthetic and vague 2.5 dimension modeling, which it achieves without much fanfare.

There's a reasonable amount of animations, which are appreciated. But ultimately the game starts to feel too samey. All the interiors look alike. All the 'suspenseful' and 'horror' (airquotes for emphasis) elements kind of blend together. The game reuses a lot of the same aesthetics. Evidently, the only way to make a scene scary is by showing rustic interiors with the gamma turned all the way down and weird, often out-of-place fog.

The game even pokes fun at itself about all the fog, but these tongue-in-cheek meta lampshading comments rarely have the effect that the developers think they do. Just because you're aware that you overuse an element does not make it acceptable to do so. However, I do have to give kudos for the developer for being willing to experiment with the visuals. There's an attention paid to lighting and composition, and scenes are often framed and blocked fairly creatively instead of just having straight shots with the subject in the center of the screen. The potential is there, once they iron out the growing pains.

The girls aren't bad. And ultimately that's where the praise stops. They're not offensively one-note, but most of the time they're pretty tropey. The game also has a bad habit of introducing all of them all at once. You meet like a dozen girls at the ninja village, they introduce themselves by their belt and race, and... that's about it. Some of them are ultimately backburnered until you interact with them again. For instance, I had no idea who Centuria was because it's been so long between her initial introduction and when you actually share meaningful scenes with her.

Most of the girls—and like most games in this genre, your vast, vast majority of scenes are shared with exclusively women—behave like silly anime tropes more than actual characters. You rarely have any kind of deep conversations. You get the occasional backstory infodump, some oversized anime reactions, the lustdrunk 'courtship' scenes, and then mostly a bunch of damsel-in-distress scenes.

I will say it's a bit problematic that, of all the main girls you interact with, you haven't really rounded the bases with any of them. You do get to sleep with various girls (Fransisca, Nixie, Claire, Margot, Tresha), but for the most part these are minor one-of characters that are cast aside as soon as you're done with them. All while the major characters—Seira and the ninja village girls—are essentially drip-fed and Patreon-baited as bad as any game out there.

This is troubling because it seems to imply that the girls have no value once the MC is allowed to put their dick in them. It's almost like the developer views them solely as prizes to be conquered, and once that happens they're written out of the story. Combined with the tropey, anime-style writing makes the girls feel especially shallow. The slow burn especially doesn't make sense considering the MC is a literal incubus who makes people want to sleep with him through dark magic and his comically large penis.

As a note to the developer, you can have the MC sleep with one of the main girls fairly early and still have development after the fact. In fact, that can open different vectors of character and relationship development. Treating them like they're prizes that you have to win piece-meal (via kissing, touching, blowjobs, etc) is both formulaic and patronizing.

Some of the 'horror' elements are quite good, if a bit derivative. The problem is the game's insistence and overreliance on jump scares. The game could have achieved the exact same effect by having an airhorn suddenly blaring.

The problem with these jump scares is that they're largely misused. The developer inserts them when they're already trying for a spooky atmosphere (low light, overused 'fog', creepy music). That's often the last place you should have a jump scare. The reader is already inherently vigilant while navigating these scenes. All a jump scare does in those moments is offer a cheap startle.

The real, optimal use of a jump scare is to add or release tension to a scene that is ambiguous, on the cusp of being scary. It's essentially used to erode your trust in the scene or the reality of the situation, which in turn makes you more invested in the paranoia of the moment. It's best when sparingly used as a tone shift. For instance, most of the jump scares in Alien involve the cat. All the scenes involving the alien are usually set up well in advance and not sprung suddenly. The horror is already built into the cinematography, sounds, and scenic tension. You feel stalked, because you are, not because you're on the lookout for the next sudden blare.

When the developer is already trying their hardest to make the environment spoopy, jump scares just feel cheap. You're expecting something to jump out at you, and the only scare is the loud noise or sudden flash. Let the horror simmer on its own.

The actual horror elements of the game feel watered down because everyone behaves like the biggest idiot. You just have people "losing" each other despite clearly understanding that they shouldn't. How do trained ninjas have that happen to them all the time? Why wouldn't they maintain touch or visual? Why aren't they constantly communicating to make sure they're still there? Why aren't they doing any of a dozen different methods to make sure they don't get separated and picked off? At some point you don't care about the horror elements because the characters are simply too stupid to live. Kind of like how you don't care when the Slut or the Token dies in b-reel horror slop because they wandered off.

The worst part is that the game doesn't need to dumb down anyone at all. It's a high fantasy game involving mythological creatures, demons, and literal gods. You have complete freedom to make the enemies OP af. Instead, apparently the only way to make anything appropriately horrific is by dumbing down the characters until they're total idiots who bumble into stupid situations. And then they get out of them because the MC is himself a deus ex machina Gary Stu with ridiculous divine powers.

The combination of the most-specialest-MC-ever and the horror elements don't really mesh. Horror works because it puts the character at the mercy of things that are darker, greater, and more powerful than the characters. There's that helpless feeling that no matter what you do, even if you make good choices, there's still that chance you meet a gruesome fate. There's almost none of that here. The MC seems to randomly get power-ups purely at plot convenience. The only reason there's any tension to begin with is because everyone behaves like a headless moron, and the developer has conditioned you to expect a blaring jump scare around every corner. Let good horror elements simmer and breathe. That's the key.

Finally, when reviewing a porn game, it's impossible to forget the lewd scenes. Here, the H scenes are generally acceptable, though most of them are fairly short and relatively bland. The girls inevitably just ahegao all over the place after some generic dicking, which is at least somewhat consistent with how the MC is an incubus, but it would feel a lot better if they were more earned or had more variety. They're decent for the power fantasy but lacking in real eroticism. There's just a little bit missing in the build-up or foreplay, and the violent tone shifts after the climax don't help either.

Ultimately, it just feels like the game is missing something. It has a great foundation, but everything comes in a little under-seasoned or half-baked. The dev needs that final 10% of missing polish.

Have been enjoying this - nicely written and immersive story. The girls are cute, there's lots of them and the game slowly builds up relationships with them in well-crafted way. Only slight thing that doesn't float my boat is the weird spider girl, but that's just personal preference. Thanks very much Flynn974

The story is actually pretty good and the game gets better with each update. Once the game is finished is going to be one of the best renpy novels of F95. The girls are cute too and there is plenty of variety.

Also, the horror sections of the game are a lot of fun.

It's been a while since a lewd VN got me this entertained. A perfect mix of Percy Jackson/GoW, Shounen anime, horror, comedy, and a few other stuff in between. Heck, even the fights are decently choreographed. And the suspense on some scenes was crazy. Now for the lewd stuff. All the girls are awesome, even the ones with unsavory personalities(they get what they deserve ). Facial expression are the selling point for me, but the animations are great as well. It's not a fap simulator tho. The story definitely has a lot of importance, sometimes heavily eclipsing the porn aspect. I got hooked af, so I'm not complaining. Only complaint I got is that MC kinda screws with the power scaling a bit too much, but when does that ever happen in battle Shounen, amirite? :HideThePain:

    not a bad game,

10 decently long updates in not even 12 months, is quite a fast working pace, in comparison to other games on this site.
Considering the time it takes for each update and the amount each one has, the images and animations look really good.
The story didn't bore more, nor was it too heavy too comprehend, so there is nothing to complain. (the highest german praise )

only thing i did notice: it lacks some Futas ;)

To kickstart this, this game is a banger and if not one of the best i've played.

There is a lot to talk about but before that, i really do hope the text is comprehensible and easy to read, so let's begin:

    The good things:
Story - 4.8 / 5 - The Story is well written, it includes the Greek pantheon and doing so it adds a certain flavour to the story, not only that it feels well polished to a degree that you can only feel the love behind it.

Characters - 4.9 / 5 - A great variety of characters to intermingle. Hereby not only that, the characters are well polished and feel genuine, needless to say you will find some of them even perfect to your tastes. (Honestly i love every single one of them.)

World feel - 5/5 - Nothing less to say here, the developer and author did everything in his might to make a beautiful world with the limitation he was given and honestly? There is a lot of things that make this AVN unigue in it's own right, one thing to say as an example would be: The multiple choices you do and how it affects certain aspects in the story and or the world around you.

Dialogue - 5/5 - The dialogue feels genuine and not one-dimensional, it honestly feels like there were a lot of thoughts behind each choice and or dialogue option, even the basic conversation feels not repetitive but just endearing and great.

Animations - 5/5 - Dude, who ever gave this dev the best options to choose from is either a deity himself and or the dev is a straight up baller, man you got me way to good with a lot of them. I am rarely excited with the "adult" part in vn's but god damn, this one hit the marks way too consistently

    My critiques:
Sadly there are some critiques but thats okay, nothing is perfect after all:

-> I do somewhat like the idea behind a Ninja village in a greek pantheon, though it kinda feels somewhat arbitrary as to why there would be a Ninja village, i would really be happy if the plot regarding this choice of world building get's lifted soon it kinda feels somewhat weird.

-> One thing that also just seemed kinda weird is the term "Jarl" iirc it is village chief in the norse language, it would be great to have it cleared up if there are other mythologies involved like the Norse, Shinto etc.

    Final Thoughts:

This game deserves more attention than it already has, it feels genuine and well crafted. I really sincerely hope this feeling in the game doesn't change. It has a wonderful world building and not only that it also has a great character development as well (regarding the MC's true origin or stuff like Venus & Annabelle's Story.) It is a great game and a great story to not only play but also to read. I really hope for consistent updates, as this developer got me hooked in.
[One thing to note is that i used a template that i saw beforehand, which belongs to Shamundane] <- I really needed a template to express myself as i rarely ever vote and rate something so thanks a lot!

At last: Thank you for whoever you are that is ready to read this through and thank you a lot Flynn for creating this close to masterpiece, i sincerely wish you great health and a possible future for a big game-developer, it is ur first game but it feels like someone had a lot of thought and experience behind it, bravo!

    Cheers.

This truly is a rare gem. Come for the story and also the amazing characters and sex scenes. Made all the more impressive by being the dev's first attempt but even if he was a veteran dev, this game would be a work of art.

"Stray Incubus" is one of the best AVNs that I have ever played. This is mainly because of the characters that were so lovingly crafted, but also the intricate story presented in it.

The story at first seems rather standard - an orphan under the care of a sole mother - but as the story progresses and the lore develops, we learn more and more about the true nature and history of the MC. I am fascinated by the connection to the Greek mythos and intrigued by how it will develop.

The characters are definitely the strongest part of the game. This varied cast has me returning to the game with anticipation the moment the game is released. The conversations are written well, they make sense. The models are very attractive, not boring or repetetive. In general, 10/10.

The sex scenes in this game are well thought out and animated well. There are quite a few fetishes to choose from that I personally liked which I will count as a positive. More broadly, there are many of them to choose from - the game has a surprising amount of content, both sexual and not.

The visuals only start off poorly, the author clearly gets better the further you get in the game. The latest chapters are very good and there is nothing I could complain about here.

Summing up, this game clearly deserves all the stars due to simply how all of its aspects blend together to create one of the best experiences available on this site. If you are considering to play the game, do not hesitate because there is a great story and great characters to be found here.

I've been playing "Stray Incubus" for a while now, and I must say, it's an absolute gem of a game. The narrative is compelling, the characters are well-developed, and the visual design is stunning. It's not just a game, it's an immersive experience that pulls you into its world.

The protagonist, Flynn, is a character that you can't help but root for. As an incubus, his journey is unique and filled with interesting challenges that keep the gameplay engaging. The choices you make as Flynn have real consequences, adding a layer of depth and complexity to the game.

The latest chapter, Chapter 10a, has left me eagerly anticipating the next installment. The story has been beautifully crafted, with each chapter adding more depth and intrigue. The plot twists and turns in unexpected ways, keeping you on the edge of your seat.

The game's visuals are a treat for the eyes. The artwork is detailed and vibrant, bringing the world of "Stray Incubus" to life. The character designs are distinctive and expressive, adding to the overall immersion.

In conclusion, "Stray Incubus" is a fantastic game that I wholeheartedly recommend. It's a captivating journey that leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to see where the story goes next. Kudos to the creators for such an amazing game!

    Shamundane

One of the best visual novel / game on this site.

    The good things:
Story - 4.5 / 5 (You can play it for the sex scenes or you can play it for the story, both are good)
    Characters - 4.5 / 5 (Diverse cast)
World feel - 5/5 (Excellently done within the limitation of a VN and great attention to details for the backgrounds)
Dialogue - 5/5 (I mean for an H-game it is quite solid. It's fun.)
    Animations - 5/5 (I came a lot)

    My critiques:
It may be too late, but completing the audio for the entire game would be a good thing - a really minor thing though.

    Final Thoughts:
I planned to download this a few months back just because of the pretty green haired girl (Instant favorite(Torr)), but was unable to due to me reviewing at the time for my licensure examinations. initially I planned to just skip the dialogue/texts and head straight to the animations but I ultimately decided against it and had to wait until my licensure exam was done to actually get to know the green haired girl better. I'm glad that I ended up actually reading the entire thing until v0.9b and I ended up liking not only the entire cast, but the story itself (Everything was just great.). It was time well spent and has my seal of quality assurance.

Wishing the creator success, happiness, and good health.

Okay, this here will become a small love letter.
This game got introduced to me while i was looking for nice Honey Select games (it looks like HS i have no idea if it is)
and at first it looked really weird to me. But as starting games always look a bit weird as devs are still getting used to their programs and stuff and also because the recommender liked many games that i liked, i sticked with it for a bit.

... and HOLY SHIT! This game is so good! I love the world building. I usually have trouble with fantasy genre games because they the characters or setting look so weird af. But StrayIncubus is really good. It easily falls into on of my top recommendations now.
The Milf scenes are done early and they look hot af too. I really like the Serena scenes... hot damn, she looks so hot and her scenes are just... wow.

The storywriting is interesting and i want to know how it will go. Too bad I finished playing the game in 2 days...
The only thing which i dont like is the small sandbox engine or whatever it is when you have to press "go forward" 5 times but there the dev implemented a "vn mode" so its better now.

What else... yea the girls look really good, i love their models and visuals... dialogue are good enough for me. yea.. thats all for me now

5/5 from me because this game made me really excited!

Exelent game. I love every single charater in it and how every single mission have well written backstory. I really like Anabelle but Tamara is my favorite so far, hope we get more content with her in a future update.

The renders look nice. I love the lightning in the renders. The story is interesting to follow. Torr is pretty cute and hot. The spider girl awoke new feelings in me that I didn't know I had. The dev is also good and has good communication.

Jeez man, this is probably one of the best games I've ever played on this site. The story is entertaining, I was definitely interested in seeing what would happen and didn't feel like I needed to skip anything to get to the good parts. Although the first few chapters were a bit lacking in that department, it really was worthwhile to play those parts to build your relationship with the characters. Talking about characters, the girls are fire. Designed so well, and they are all unique. Tamara is my favorite I think, so I'd love more scenes with her in the future. Overall, thanks for the great game and good luck with the next updates. I'm looking forward to it.

Game is pretty great. Good graphics, dialog and story is interesting enough to not skip, characters are actually pretty cool and varied.
Honestly the main downside of the game is that there's only one scene with the spider girl so far haha.

    review of 0.9:

Engaging story, enough content, silly humor and nice models, so basically everything I want in a game :)

I'm just sad I finished it already...

Some of the greek mythology is a bit off, but I dont really care about that, this is a porn game.

Stray Incubus is a choice based novel featuring an incubus and his harem of sexy ninja girls.

The game is a visual novel with mostly opt-in/opt-out choices throughout. However, there are currently two significant moments where you can dramatically shift the story through the MC's choices. While the consequences for these choices have yet to be seen in the story, they could be quite significant in the long run.

There is a stat screen which keeps track of how your decisions influence the girls in the game, but it doesn't appear to dramatically change anything yet. The choices for influencing the girls appear to be yes or no at the moment, so the only way to lock yourself out of content is self inflicted. There also appears to be no penalty for pursuing all the girls.

The story starts out pretty rough honestly. It has a real lack of any story arc so it feels like things just happen however and whenever the author wills it. The characters don't have much in the way of motivations and kinda just follow along with whatever harebrained plot happens next.

That said, after a rough start, things get better when the main character decides to join the ninja school. The various mission he and the sexy kunoichi go on pull the plot together into some semblance of order, though it's still kinda nebulous as to whether there's an overarching plot. It's not flawless, but the individuals missions are kinda fun, in a silly naruto-esque sort of way.

None of the characters are supremely interesting, but none of them are completely boring either. Most of the girls have a scene or two of solid focus and there's some decent banter between them and the MC. It also appears the game will have a handful of girls that are tied to the mission locations rather than the ninja school, meaning they'll feature and then pop out of the story, which is a bonus in my opinion.

I definitely can't deny that the game is pretty. The girls have nice designs and some great outfits and there's even some fairly well put together scenery. The sex scenes aren't ridiculously common throughout the game, but there's enough to keep you entertained. Some of the scenes are pretty damn hot. It's definitely a good utilization of the software.

Overall, Stray Incubus isn't a bad game, but it can be difficult to get through the rough opening. If you can deal with the random stuff happening through the early portion of the story, there's a rather fun and sexy romp hiding deeper inside. It's worth a shot if you wish Naruto had more porn.

Oh man, where do I start
    Character design 10/10
The special Personality for each character 10/10
    Game story 8.5/10
    Erotic scenes 10/10
In the end, it is a game that is definitely worth your time
